CHAT: Family Connection for Healthy Futures

12.23.2025

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) launched CHAT: Family Connection for Healthy Futures to support the health of Utah youth and families. CHAT is a statewide effort to help parents build stronger, more supportive relationships with their teens. Research shows that youth who experience strong, positive relationships at home are more resilient, less likely to struggle with anxiety or depression, and better equipped to make healthy choices.

The CHAT website includes resources and simple, practical tools parents can use to create meaningful daily interactions with their children.

By helping families prioritize connection through small, intentional changes, Utah aims to help every teen feel loved, heard, and supported at home. When children have loving, supportive relationships, they are more likely to grow into healthy, resilient adults.Parents, caregivers, and community partners are encouraged to explore the resources at dhhs.utah.gov/chat and commit to engaging in meaningful moments of connection with the teens in their lives. Together, we can build healthier, more resilient futures for all.
